Inspired by the Cosmos, a new exhibit, opens January 8 at the Carrollton Center for the Arts, showcasing the work of Greg Mort.
“The works remind us of that state of awe, that feeling of exploration, endlessness and imagination that many of us experience when looking out into the night sky,” said Visual Arts Coordinator Marcella Kuykendall. “The pieces are beautiful and at times elegantly surreal.”
Internationally recognized artist Greg Mort’s Inspired by the Cosmos: An Artists’ Journey From Earth’s Shore Into the Sea of Space explores the artist’s passion for science which led him to be commissioned by NASA and Arts in Embassies. His work has been shown in museums and galleries around the world and is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian, National Gallery of Art and many more.
The center will host a free opening reception for the show, January 8, 5pm – 7pm.
Inspired by the Cosmos runs through February 16 and is sponsored by Printer’s Ale, Greg and Suzanne Smith.
